Is your Pup Posh?
We have 3 dogs and they are like kids to me, they are a very important part of this house and are treated as such. Gabby, our little Yorkie weighs in at 3 pounds and is the old lady of the bunch (she is approx 9-10 years old). She has had a terribly rough life and shows her age with grace and dignity. She was found on the side of the highway and was in terrible shape. After searching for the owners without success the people who found her needed to find a forever home for Gabby. She needed grooming terribly, she has a bad eye and few teeth. But she is one of the sweetest dogs and will steal your heart from the minute you meet her. click on link for the rest of the article.

I am soooo excited because we got samples of Pepper & Tanky eau du parfum in the mail. I had first discovered them at Pet Fashion Week in August and fell in love with their line of scents for dogs. Pepper & Tanky is a eau du parfum made in France designed by Christina Kegeyan and Jasmine Oganesyan together with a French parfumer. It is named after Christina's Cairn Terrier, Pepper, and Pit Bull, Tanky . It is 100% safe and is paraben-free and hypo-allergenic. I I love that they have four different scents so each of my chihuahuas can smell different from each other. The scents Pepper & Tanky come in are: Vanilla Woof is my FAVORITE. It is a "chypre floral fragrance with fruity hints and sweet vanilla scent." This is Chico's new signature scent. It makes him smell so sweet and yummy. Peaches n' Cream is my next favorite scent. It is an "opulent floral and fruity combination." It smells like sweet peaches toned down with a light floral scent. It's my favorite scent to put on Bebe. Puppy Love is a "light and refreshing blend of bergamot, amber and jasmine." It smells sort of like a light baby powder but it isn't too overwhelming. I like this scent for a day-time scent for Manny. Big Dawg is an "aromatic medley of bergamot and neroli with a touch of lavender and musk." This one is a very manly scent. It smells like a mens cologne or aftershave. I like it for Manny when we go out for the night with the doggies to pet cocktail parties and such. Pepper & Tanky eau du parfum is not like the perfume that you use for yourself. You should never use human perfumes and colognes on dogs. They use too much alcohol in them which is irritating to the sensitive coats and skins of your dogs. Pepper & Tanky uses less alcohol and has a blend of natural oils. Having less alcohol also is nice because I think that with less alcohol you can smell the scented oils better and you don't have the overwhelming scent that many human perfumes and colognes can have. The doggies aren't sneezing or rolling around to try to get the scent off like they do with many other pet colognes that use up to 90% alcohol because Pepper & Tanky only uses 40% alcohol. When I spray the dogs with the Pepper & Tanky eau du parfum, I like to spray it into the palm of my hands and massage it along the dogs back, chest, around the head (not too close to the face), and down their legs. The Heidi Chronicles, Chapter 44: A dog "in development" June 29, 2009 | 7:26 am This is Heidi. Last year, she was "discovered" in the park by a pet talent agency; since then, she has embarked on a one-dog quest to break into the business. This is her Hollywood story as chronicled by Diane Haithman. And this is her "head shot": That longing look was achieved by placing a biscuit just out of reach. Since signing up with Central Casting in early June -- seeking extra roles that include a talented German Shepherd -- Heidi and I have gotten no nibbles whatsoever from Hollywood. But our East Coast colleague Lorraine Goodman, who writes a column on animals and show biz for Examiner.com, tipped us off to an open casting call being held in Burbank for a TV reality show involving dogs. (By the way, congrats to Lorraine's terrier mix, Tiger, who has landed a gig on a shoe commercial. Read her column here). As is the case with many open casting calls for projects in development, no details were provided; dogs and unemployed actors don't ask questions; they come when called. The audition was not geographically desirable for Tiger, but Lorraine thought we might be intrigued. I applaud the professional courtesy I am observing in the working dog community. Whether Heidi can act is still an open question -- but no one could argue with the fact that she is real dog. Plus, the producers were particularly interested in rescue dogs like Heidi. We responded to the e-mail with photos and a recounting of the heart-tugging story of Heidi's rescue from a Texas storm drain. Almost immediately, we got an e-mail asking us to set up an audition appointment. We did. No matter what happened from this point forward, in my mind Heidi had scored a Hollywood coup: She was part of the process. She was in development. Last week, we showed up for our appointment at the Glassman Media offices in a modern structure on Barham Boulevard; company credits include "The Ex-Wives Club," "National Bingo Night" and the NBC hit "Average Joe in Hawaii." Heidi, an average dog from Studio City, loved riding the building's elevator. A Spritz for Stinky Dogs
When my dogs are truly dirty, nothing helps but a bath. But occasionally they just smell a little like dog food or, you know, dog. Pepper & Tanky sweetens things up with a line of cruelty-free, French eau de parfum for dogs. The packaging makes me laugh (in a good way); the dainty blue atomizer looks like something from my grandma’s makeup table, making it that much more fun to spritz my 175-lb. drooling mastiff. He and his younger sis took it in stride — no sneezing, no skin allergies. (I later read that I was supposed to spray the perfume on my hand, then rub on my dog’s coat. Oops.) Ashley Paige’s Ruff Houzen animal rescue has the freshest smelling doggies in town! Celebrity fashion designer and animal lover Ashley Paige made sure her dogs smelled their best for an adoption event this week at her famed Hollywood studio. D.O.G. Valentine's Day Yappy Hour Party

(dee-oh-gee) Pet Boutique in West Hollywood. Pepper & Tanky won over a legion of fans at the hip dog boutique’s annual V-day fete! The boutique was packed with LA’s most stylish and pampered pooches and (human) guests munched on tasty mini cupcakes and sipped champagne. However, our real treat was seeing how much people enjoyed Pepper & Tanky! Our parfum looked amazing thanks to D.O.G. (dee-oh-gee) owner, Chris. Pepper & Tanky Helps Kick Off Westminster Weekend!
On Feb. 6, Pepper & Tanky made it’s East Coast debut at a party to kick off the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC! Proceeds from Pepper & Tanky’s silent auction donation benefitted Animal Haven, a New York City no-kill shelter. More than a glamorous fashion show drawing the most fabulous pooches in New York, it was a party with a purpose! Over 300 dog lovers and their canine companions took over the ballroom at the Hotel Pennsylvania to celebrate the biggest event in the Dog World. Pepper & Tanky eau du parfum rubbed shoulders with the likes of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Jorge Bendersky and Jonathan David of Animal Planet’s “Groomer Has It,” as well as many guests and Westminster competitors. Even Uno, the 2008 Best in Show beagle made an appearance! We will also be donating another beautiful gift basket to the RACE TO ERASE MS event on May 8th, benefitting the Nancy Davis Foundation for MS.
